Dust Poets

Dust Poets

Canada’s Dust Poets hail from the heart of Canada’s Prairies. Performing the music of songwriter Murray D. Evans, the Dust Poets poke affectionate fun at themselves and the world around them. Their lyrics explore the social ills, oddities, and joys of modern life, and their songs and arrangements are crafted with their own irreverent brand of genre blending acoustic music.

Mixing faux grass and swing, pop and alt country, the outcome is an intricately woven soundscape for the clever turns their lyrics take. The band’s all-acoustic lineup of guitar, upright bass, accordion, mandolin, clarinet, and percussion, plus extraordinary vocal harmonies, allow the band to create a diverse and entertaining stage show. An evening of acoustic excellence is an apt description of a concert experience with this skillful chamber-folk quintet.

The Dust Poets perform outreach workshops for schools and community that encompass a range of topics from songwriting and vocal harmony to careers in music and touring.

“You displayed such amazing technique and mastery of every instrument in a seeming effortless fashion that even the most critical of our series buyers were awed.”
