A Circumpolar Soundscape

A Circumpolar Soundscape

This quintessential northern Canadian project brings together three distinct and highly creative female Aboriginal artists in a unique collaboration that will leave audiences spellbound.

Although Yukon’s Diyet (Southern Tutchone), Northwest Territories’ Leela Gilday (Dene) and Greenland’s Nive Nielson (Inuk) hail from different parts of the circumpolar north, each is charting a similar course to the rest of the world. Diyet’s debut recording, The Breaking Point, was #1 on the National Aboriginal Music Charts and can be heard across Canada, in Europe, and parts of the US. Leela Gilday is a Juno and Western Canadian Music award-winning artist and is renowned on the Canadian musical landscape as a strong and vibrant performer. Nive Nielsen, proudly Inuk and an official cultural ambassador for her country, and is considered one of the top musicians from northern Europe.

A Circumpolar Soundscape is a rare opportunity for these artists to connect on a creative level by sharing their broader Aboriginal heritage and experience. Performances are infused with passion and emotion. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will always want more.

“The creative talent of these three women is a force to be reckoned with. I was awe-struck.”
